The Incident: A Nightmarish Encounter
In the early morning hours, a member of Robina community confronted a group of brazen teenagers attempting to steal their vehicle. The courage displayed in facing down these criminals is commendable, but the incident highlights a disturbing truth – car theft is no longer a distant problem; it’s knocking on our doors.

“Just to let everyone know. I’m ok. Cuts bruises. Half a big toe and a broken rib. In case you didn’t know, 7 or 8 teenagers wearing balaclavas tried to steal Vicky’s car at 3.30am. Chilli barked and woke us. I ran downstairs and charged at them. They wisely legged it to their waiting car and SUV. Then the chicken shits accelerated and drove head on into me. Ended up on the bonnet. They then swerved sharp and I went flying off onto the road landing on my hip rolling and scraping down the tarmac. Whilst wearing my favourite undies. Tried to get up. But the SUV thought it would be good to finish me off doing 60. Luckily had time to dive out of the way using my spider senses. But removing some more skin in the process. Found the outer shell of their wing mirror on the floor. Anyway, on my way back from hospital. Mummified. We turn onto the road leading to our house. Looking out for cars to see if I can work out which car they drove by finding one with same outer shell. But instead found the car with its missing outer shell. Blood on bonnet. Parked 100m to our house. Police been informed. But seems like I’m not a priority currently. They better hope the bizzes get them before I do. Thanks for kind messages. Time to rest and heal up.”
